Australian Cutie Ch.7

  "Ouch! That hurt!" Sydney rubbed her sore butt and looked around. "Don't worry the others landed just like that too on their first trip." Jeremy said while chuckling to himself. Sydney didn't really hear him as she was too busy looking at herself. She wore a tight, white shirt with a red swirl on both shoulders. She also wore black fingerless gloves, and had a long red scarf around her neck. She wore gray/black knee-length shorts with a brown gun holster strapped around her hip. Her boots were short and black with  flat heels. "Whoa..." Sydney gazed in aw as she pulled out her gun. "Sydney, your gun has many rounds of bullets. But eventually you will run out and I'll need to reload you." Sydney nodded her head, but didn't take her eyes away from the gun. It was silver with yellow and blue jagged  lines across it. On the "butt" of the gun was a silver chain and at the end was a gold star. "Ok Sydney hurry! The others aren't going to last long!" Sydney nodded her head and took off, "the tower is 5 miles Northwest of your position." "Thanks Einstein!" Jeremy shook his head, "oh great now she's talking like Odd too!"

  Meanwhile the others were being beaten, badly. Aelita had found a small cave to hide in from the Scipizoa. "Nighty night!" Odd yelled as he fired another arrow. The arrow struck the eye in the center of the Megetank and it was destroyed. "Well it's about time we got rid of that thing," Ulrich said. "Now all we have left is the scipizoa," Yumi replied. "Guys watch out! Xana's sending you two crabs!" Odd groaned aloud, "oh come on! Doesn't he ever give up?" They got ready to fight when suddenly a flash of red and white landed on one of the crabs. The stranger held her hand pointed down and a thin blade shot out and the stranger plunged the blade into the eye symbol and jumped off. The crab staggered and then blew up into a hundred pixels. "Wow! Who is that?!"Ulrich exclaimed. The stranger dashed over to them and they gasped. "Sydney?!" Odd ran over and hugged her tightly, "Sydney are you ok? Are you hurt?" She looked at him and giggled, "I'm fine Odd, I came to help you guys." Ulrich nodded his head, "well it's a good thing you did. Otherwise we would've been divirtualized by now." Yumi nodded her head in agreement, "well I like your outfit Sydney. It reminds me of an assassin." Sydney smiled, "Uh Sydney? You've uh...got a tail." "What?!" Odd pointed and she turned to look over her shoulder and there was a yellow with a blue tip fox tail sticking out of her rear end. "Ahh! What the heck?!" Sydney felt her head and there were also two big fox ears, yellow tipped with blue. Odd opened his mouth to say something but then a laser shot out and just missed him. "Looks like that other crab was just an appetizer," Ulrich said as he drew out his saber. Yumi and Odd charged forward with Ulrich and Sydney started to follow, when she heard a faint cry for help. 'Aelita!' Sydney turned and ran towards Aelita's cries for help. Then as she turned around a wall of ice she saw what appeared to be a giant jellyfish. "Hey ugly!" She shouted and she slowly drew her gun. The scipizoa turned to look at Sydney and began to move towards her. "Aelita run now!" Aelita nodded before dashing out of her hiding spot and running for the tower. Sydney aimed at the scipizoa's head and fired two shots, but the scipizoa easily dodged them. She prepared to fire again, but the scipizoa knocked it out of her hand and it slid far across the ice. Sydney was now completely helpless to Xana. As the scipizoa began to wrap it's tentacles around her body, she screamed as loud as she could before she was silenced by the scipizoa.

  "Sorry Charlotte, but this is what you get for ruining the furniture!" Odd fired two arrows which found their mark and destroyed the crab. "Still naming monsters Odd?" Yumi asked while laughing softly. "Ahhhhh!" Odd froze. 'I know that scream...It's Sydney!' Odd sprinted to the sound of Sydney's screams, his anger building. 'If she's hurt I'll....' As he turned a corner he froze in his tracks and his blood ran cold. Sydney was in the hands of the scipizoa, and Odd knew immediately what it was trying to do. "Sydney!" He ran towards the scipizoa and fired at it's big head. But it didn't stop, Odd fired again but nothing happened.'Oh no! I'm out of arrows!' He watched helplessly as Xana invaded his friend's mind and filled it with evil. "...Odd..." He looked up and Sydney's eyes were locked onto his. She stared at him and he tried to look away but couldn't. She looked dead just hanging there, staring with no emotion. Odd shook his head, "Sydney I'm coming! Listen it's me Odd your friend!" She continued to stare at him and he began to cry. "Don't look at me like that! Stop! Let her go!" He charged the scipizoa but was struck by another of it's tentacles. He tried again but to no avail. After about the third try he looked at Sydney's face. It looked much more pale and lifeless than before. There was no laughter in her eyes nor any light, it was just darkness.

  Meanwhile, Aelita had finally reached the tower and entered it. She slowly walked onto a platform and stood in the middle and raised her head. She began to slowly ascend to the top...

  Odd wrestled with the scipizoa, trying desperately to free Sydney. Tears streaked down his face and he was sobbing. "Sydney! Please wake up! It's me Odd!" She didn't even move....

Aelita made it to the top and moved to the center and a screen popped up. Aelita placed her hand onto the screen and her name came up. Then the word 'Code'...

  Odd forgot all about the tentacles and was now trying to pull Sydney free. The scipizoa hit him but he wouldn't stop. "Grr... come on!" Then with one yank the scipizoa pulled Sydney away from Odd's grasp. "No!" He lunged forward and put his arms around her neck. "Please..."

   'L.Y'....

  "Please....I..."

  'O.K'...

  "I-I love you...."

  'O.'

  Aelita bowed her head "Tower deactivated."
